When considering if you’d like to tweak your hair color, keep in mind your lifestyle, personality and coloring to get the best possible shade. Do you have time for the upkeep of coloring your hair? What type of colring would best fit your type of personality? Should you choose warm hues or cool hues (hint – schedule a Color Analysis if you’re not sure!).Then think about what you are trying to achieve with your color to decide what process is for you. Are you trying to hide greys? Completely changing the color of your hair? Just looking to add a little kick to your style? Let’s talk about what your options are.
You may just want something simple like highlights. This is great for hiding grey hairs that are just starting to come in. Also a perfect option if you’d like to do something new, but want to keep the core color of your hair. Consider low-lights as well. This will add a lot of dimension and looks especially nice on light blondes. Beware of streaking though, using a too light color creates that scary stipe-y effect. If you have decided to do an allover color, make sure you are staying within your particular chroma. Know if warm or cool shades work for you and choose your new color with that in mind. If you are choosing to do an allover color because of greys, then it’s safest to pick a shade within two to three shades of your natural color. Beware of brassy results when coloring hair if you have dark hair. It can bring out red tones that are unwanted.
Having great hair will give you confidence make you stand out in a crowd!

Boho-chic has had some might staying power on the style scene. Just when you think it is fading out it comes back strong with a new tweak to it. For those of you who are not sure what boho-chic really is, it’s a look that is hippie and bohemian inspired. It is a folksy style that is fashionable because of its modern take on the strong gypsy influence of its garments. Big name celebrities have embraced this style and made it their signature look, such as Nicole Ritchie and Kate Moss. Are you able to pull off this look as well? Here are some ideas on how to emulate this laid-back style.
The silhouette you present is important; pair a slouchy oversize piece with a streamlined piece so the proportion works and you don’t look sloppy. Try an oversize sweater and a pair of skinny jeans or cuffed straight leg jeans. The key to this look really is in the accessories. Pile on the jewelry – stack your bracelets, layer your necklaces and choose dangly earrings. Scarves are a main accessory of boho-chic, just be casual about how you wrap them. Hats and even head-pieces (if you dare) are perfect for this particular style. Finally, a slouchy bag, such as a hobo style, will complete the look.
To try the look I suggest freepeople.com. It’s a great place to buy the latest boho-chic styles.

Ponte Modern Blazer at Banana Republic
Not every garment off the rack will fit you perfectly. That is why I always tell my clients to have a good tailor in their rolodex. Blazers are one example of a piece of clothing that often needs a little tweaking by the tailor to get a perfect fit. Crucial spots that need adjusting are the waistline and the sleeves. We want to create an hourglass figure so make sure the waist shows off your curves. If not, a tailor can nip the piece in at the waist to give you instant shape. The arms of the blazer can be adjusted in a couple ways. The sleeves can be pulled in by the tailor creating a slimmer arm and the bottom of the sleeves can be shortened to make sure they are not too long. They should hit at the meaty part of your hand, just below the wrist on your thumb side. If you find a standout blazer that does not come in your size, remember that blazers can only be reduced by two sizes, otherwise they lose their integrity.

Old Navy Gauze Bird Print Scarf
Scarves aren’t just for winter. Yes, my husband has finally realized this. His crazy looks at me in the dead of summer wearing a scarf are beginning to fade now. He knows (since I have told him) that scarves are an accessory, not just for warmth. But we do need to keep cool, so a lightweight scarf is a necessity this time of year. A long, light cotton or silk scarf is the perfect choice. There are endless ways to wrap a scarf, the My Stylist members have received two complete video how-to’s on wrapping a scarf of about a dozen different ways! But don’t worry too much about wrapping it just right, a simple way to wear it is wrapped once around your neck with the ends dangling down. You really can’t wrap a scarf wrong, so do what is comfortable to you.

Sally Hansen Air Brush Legs
A question I am asked often is it okay to always go bare-legged? Well, speaking as a wardrobe stylist, it is more fashionable to go sans nylons. But when I am consulting professional women, I tell them that it depends on their particular industry and office atmosphere. Lets’ talk about this – it is modern to show a bare leg or to wear tights. Nylons are a little passé. So when you have the choice of what you can wear, choose tights or nothing at all. But this is not always acceptable in the work place since both those choices have a more casual vibe to them. A really conservative profession such as a lawyer, or accountant should consider wearing a nude or sheer black nylon with their work wardrobe. It is simply a classier look that needs to be presented to your clients. But most industries are not that buttoned up, so you can forget the pantyhose. Actually there are signs nylons may even be coming back in vogue since Kate Middleton has been seen sporting nylons with her dresses, we’ll see. So on to our next dilemma, since we can’t camouflage our legs with nylons, how do we present a nice bare-legged look when our legs may not be so perfect? An easy fix is to spray our legs with Sally Hansen Air Brushed Legs for a polished sun-kissed look.
