Okay, so you are sitting at work, pen in hand, you make a quick move and mark on your new white pants. It’s happened to us all. The trick to stopping it from becoming a permanent stain is to keep it from setting. Grab the hairspray from your purse and douse it good. It will look like you made it worse, but giving it a squirt will keep it from settling into the fibers. Then immediately throw it in the washer when you get home.
We love a glass of red wine and the best part is we can say we are doing it for our health! But sometimes if we are not careful, our new silk blouse may enjoy a drop or two. If that happens you need to break out the white wine. White wine counteracts red wines staining properties. Then I guess you will have an excuse to drink a little white wine too!

Most of you know that I have a skin care routine that I swear by. My skin was a mess in the past, a combination of oily with dry patches, wrinkles were beginning to define themselves plus I still would get an outbreak of acne. But since I have begun this great morning and night routine, my skin has improved exponentially. It’s not perfect, but the texture is way better, I have no dry patches, and makeup smooth’s on easier. Plus my breakouts have decreased. It has worked better to improve my skin than microderm abrasion treatments. I share the steps and products needed for this routine with my makeover clients and at my makeup consultations. Since it would take way too long to go into it all here, I will let you in on just one of the secret weapons in this age defying routine – safflower oil.
Our skin ages in part because as you get older your skin becomes dryer, right? Well, safflower oil counteracts that, giving your skin the perfect drink of moisture to keep wrinkles at bay by acting as a protective barrier to prevent water from leaving your skin. It has the same great properties that olive oil has yet no odor.
I apply it every night before bed. It will go on greasy, but don’t be put off by that. Your skin will soak it up and your face will feel great in the morning.
The other great thing about safflower oil is – it’s cheap! I buy it at drugstores under the label of Vitamin E Oil, which if you read the ingredients has a base of safflower oil with added vitamin e. It only costs about $10 a bottle. And don’t be shy about using it on the rest of your body as well. It really helps dry winter skin, relieving that nasty itch. I especially like to use it on my knees and elbows, wrinkle spots that begin to show when you are over forty.
When you try safflower oil, test it on a patch of skin first. It is non-irritating, but it’s always a good idea to make sure it won’t cause irritation to any existing skin conditions.

There are really no rules to wearing a broach except to not limit them to your winter wool coat. Try something more exciting like a sweater or dress. On a sweater you can make the broach the center of attention by placing it in the middle of the v neckline or place a few (no more than three) off to the side near the bottom of the collarbone. When wearing a dress a broach looks fantastically elegant when worn on the waistband, either in the center or off to the side. Most of all have fun with the look. Just don’t overdo it and keep the rest of your outfit and make-up simple.

What is the trick to making eyeliner last all day? It really simple; set the eyeliner with powder and then go over the eyeliner with eye shadow in the same color. It will take you from AM to late in the PM!
And how do you keep your lips looking freshly colored? First line your lips with lip liner and fill in the rest of your lips with the color. Then apply your lipstick, blot with a tissue and put on a second coat. You are now good for hours!
Our favorite makeup is of course the DNI line. Contact us for more information on this fabulous makeup and to order.

They are versatile, a couple are classic and one is very trendy. But if you are able to incorporate all five in your wardrobe routine you will look tres chic.
Platform Pumps ~ Perfect for work or a night out. Look for interesting textures and colors. Or having a pair in a basic brown or black can take you miles. And just a suggestion, nude is really big this season, and a way to make your legs look a mile long!
Laced Ankle Boots ~ Boots are still ultra-popular and we are glad they are since they are so versatile, and the laced up varieties give off a funky vibe that can be worn casual or dressy!
Embellished Flats ~ These oh so comfortable shoes are still popular this season. You’ll want to throw these shoes on when you’re running errands or sitting at your kid’s sports event. Plus they always look good at the office!
Peep Toe Booties ~ Okay, these are more on the trendy side, so erring on the practical side, we suggest not spending a fortune on these since they are not a classic piece you will be wearing forever. However, if you want to look “in the know” stylish, you’ll want a pair of these. They will immediately update your look to a very current chic look.
Knee High Boots ~ These are classic so invest in a quality pair in a neutral that you can wear with your skirts, dresses and jeans. These amazing boots can be worn to work then transition perfectly to a night out with your loved one.
Have fun shopping!
