How many of you can truly say what your colors are? It is important to find out. Certain colors enhance ones looks and a person will look healthier, radiant, and more alive, whereas other colors will make the person look washed out or sallow. Color analysis is the only way to really know what your colors are. Once you have your colors done, you will find shopping for clothes easier since you’ll stick to the color palette that most compliments your skin tone and hair color. Your clothes will coordinate better and you’ll always look put together. Remember, not all color analysis are created equal. Our Color Alliance System uses computer analysis to determine your unique color harmony that goes beyond the traditional seasonal colors. Then you will receive your own personalized color pallet of your best colors to use while shopping for clothes and accessories. It is so simple and will help you to always look great!

This time of year is one of my favorites. It’s full of colors we can all wear. There’s Blueberry, Strawberry, Peach and Watermelon just to name a few. What am I talking about? Colors that look great not just worn outside our bodies but are also great for inside our bodies. Yes, you got it I’m talking about the great variety of fruits and veggies that are available to us this time of year. Summer is a great time to get serious about how we take care of ourselves. Start by adding a few new fruits and veggies to your diet each week. I am obsessed with blueberries but also want to try gold kiwi. And, there is nothing better than tomatoes from the garden (which I’ve planted six varieties).
I’m all about lots of bright colors in my diet. Now, don’t forget to take yourself outside for some exercise too. Starting an exercise habit in summer is much easier (I know this from experience) than in the winter when you are surrounded by walls. Plus, with the early sunrise you can get it in before the day officially starts (this is what I prefer).
The payoff to all this is looking and feeling better and maybe even losing a few pounds. That sounds worth it to me! Now excuse me while I make myself a blueberry smoothie.

The other night as I was dressing for bed after a very long day, I decided to put on my dressy silk chemise and matching robe, one that I leave hanging in my closet rarely touched. As I walked into the living room one of my boys said “that’s a pretty nightgown mom, why are you wearing it?” I said I decided to treat myself, I wanted to feel good by wearing a luxurious gown. And it did lift my spirits after a tiring day. I always would go for my “comfort jammies”, those soft pj’s that may be a little ratty but feel or so good. But some nights that just continues my tired day by putting on ”tired” pajamas. That night my pretty chemise made all the difference in my mood – so try it yourself!

We all want that when it comes to casual gatherings. I know it is something we strive for when sitting at our boys baseball games or visiting our local fair. We want to look good and put together, but the event calls for a very dressed down look. So since being stylish also means dressing appropriately for all occasions we suggest a few things to look very “casual chic”.
Your hair should be playful, so don’t use a ton a hairspray. Your hair is meant to blow and have a breezy edge, so we suggest a half-up, half-down style and let a few piecey face framing layers fall out. Makeup is low key, so concentrate on perfect skin and minimal color. Use foundation or a just a little concealor if your skin is clear. A natural eyeshadow and blush is a must, it’ll look as if your not even wearing anything but at the same time will enhance your face. Finish with a coat of mascara and lip gloss and you are set. Finally the outfit must be comfortable and use your best judgement when it comes to what you wear.
It can be ultra casual, yet you can still look good. For instance this week the sweltering heat means dressing very cool and comfortable for the ball games. So a casual tee and cotton shorts are just fine. But we like to top it off with great hoop earrings or maybe a pretty pendant necklace. The accessories complete the uber-casual outfit. The goal is to look polished but not overly done.

Do you need to look drop dead sexy for a Friday night date? If you only have a little time to freshen up after a hard day at the office, here is the recipe for a speedy makeover. Get a fresh look with day old makeup by applying another coat of mascara, and hit the bottom lashes too.
Create a great smoky eye in an unexpected color like plum or mauve (depending on which color suits you). It’ll create more interest than the usual gray shadow. Finish with a long lasting lipliner and creamy gloss to set.
Create sultry hair by spraying volumizer at your dry roots and drying hair upside down. Keep volume by using a flatiron from midshaft down, so the volume is left at the roots.
Then finish with a shine spray misted on your palms on then applied to the ends to control frizz. That way your hair is glossy but not greasy. Put on that hot dress and your ready to go in a flash!
