The Must Have Jacket For FallOctober 22nd, 2007

This one is easy and fast becoming the favorite piece of my Fall wardrobe…..THE SWING JACKET. I absolutely love this piece for Fall. Here is the trick to picking out the perfect swing jacket for you. First check the material, how does it feel and look? Look for a sturdy material even a textured one is great for balancing with other separates. I also prefer a lined jacket, which tends to lay better against the body and provide a better fit. Try it on and make sure the fit is right for you, not too tight in the bust and straight across the back (remember the jacket is called a “swing jacket” for a reason) it must be fitted through the top and just below the bust but not restrictive.

Have fun with this jacket and pick a color that is in your individual color palette, one that compliments your neutrals (we’d be happy to help you figure out your best colors with our color analysis service). Pair it with a long sleeve light weight turtleneck and dark wide-leg jeans for a casual feel or cuffed wide-leg pants for a more dressy look and a fun pair of ankle boots or heeled mary-janes.

Key colors for fallSeptember 2nd, 2007

We have been busy girls; you know the usual end of August routine – getting the kids ready for school. We have been school shopping the fun kind, if the kids cooperate, clothes shopping. And then there is the tedious school supply shopping. Yuck!

This time of year also signals the oh-so exciting fall fashion season! What is new for the season? One of the major fall must haves is bold colors. There are three key colors that we suggest to incorporate into your wardrobe this season.

The first is cobalt blue. Cobalt is an eye catching vibrant blue. It can be used as a full-on outfit, such as a striking suit, or dress, or use it as an accent color. It’s a great handbag color; try finding it in a patent leather. Try to pair cobalt with black to really make it pop.

The second is fuchsia. Consider it your new red. It’s works for day or evening. This is a great dress color, however, do not do it in a suit, it would look a little too girlish. Use this rich berry color in a bangle bracelet, or a fabulous pump paired with your favorite little black dress.

The final must have color is purple. Varying shades such as amethyst, aubergine and plum look stunning in a dress, but again, please do not do in a suit! We suggest finding an amethyst ballet flat in suede to punch up an outfit.

Now please remember, these colors do not flatter everyone! You must know if it is one of your colors before you buy a dress or blouse in it. If you are not sure, please call us and have your color analysis done. That way you can look your best as you update for the season. If these colors are not for you, use these them in accessories only. Buy it in a handbag, shoes or cuff bracelet, keeping it away from your face. Also realize these colors are bright and will attract attention. If you would rather not be the one to stand out in a room, use as accessories only. That way you can be trendy without stepping out of your comfort zone.
